Last spring, a mother bird decided that my flower box would make the perfect location for her nest. We loved watching the whole process and was just amazed to witness the mother’s dedication.
So I started where I always go…Pinterest.
An Egg-cellent DIY craft.
These fantastic sites were “egg-actly” what I needed to get started.
Once they were dry, it was time for the speckles.
I diluted dark brown craft paint with water & then used an old toothbrush to create the character.
Finally, I hit them with a clear coat to add a tab of shine and protection.
Nests are so amazing. The detail and precision those parent bird put into the safe haven for their eggs is incredible works of art. Take the time to really look at one.
It made the perfect setting for my 4 small eggs and a porcelain baby bird I had picked up at Renningers.
Using the Stone Gable website for inspiration, I created a few more nest. With Spanish moss, twigs, and green moss to creating my own cozy version of nests.
Enjoy the Spring time. Check out my Pinterest page for other ideas I have pulled together.
